'Take Action – How auditing can contribution to reducing the Carbon Footprint' in October 2009 CQI "QW Express"

Rapidly increasing pressure is now being placed on organisations across the World to reduce their Carbon Footprint. Like all other business activities, auditing is required to make its contribution.

Auditing frequently requires significant travel to visit remote sites and the larger the organisation, the greater will be the pressure to reduce this - on both environmental and economic grounds. At the same time, auditing is also under pressure to deliver greater business value, a seemingly diametrically opposed requirement.

To achieve these dual goals will require auditors to adopt new methods and adapt their processes to create the required outcomes. It will not be possible to 'continue with what we have always done' - this will only 'deliver what we have always had', which in today's World is a totally unacceptable business position.
