New thinking - New skills - New people? - It's up to you

The new era of business process based management systems means change for everyone. Change to the approach, scope of activity and the assessments needed. More critically a change in the skills required by the people who create, develop and improve management systems - and that means everyone, not just quality professionals. This is not conjecture but experience based on facilitating change in many forward thinking organisations.

The effective management systems professionals of tomorrow need to be well-rounded individuals that understand the many and different aspects of business management. Most importantly they need to understand how these link together in the 'real world'. What ever the management discipline they need to understand where this fits into the management system and the pivotal role they play in facilitating improvement.

The role of the specialist/quality/business/change manager has merged and is now an integrated professional, not working on a standalone basis. This is the critical change that requires enhancement of skills in order to contribute fully - what ever the discipline.

All management roles should be firmly focused on supporting organisations to improve business results through an effective management system. It is no longer the realm of the quality manager alone.

Developing the knowledge and skills required to think in a joined up way is not a case of attending a single discipline focused training event - a different approach is required.

Some of today's quality managers are developing rapidly into this role. For others there is an opportunity for them to become tomorrow's management systems professionals through using appropriate resources to gear themselves up for the challenge.

There are many providers that will have pieces of the 'jigsaw' but not necessarily the threads that 'join them together' or the focus needed to progressively develop the required competences. For more information on our approach please follow this link - Our Approach.
